Lake County prosecutors won't retry Rivera in 11-year-old girl's 1992 slaying

Lake County State’s Attorney Michael Waller announced this morning that he will not challenge an appellate court’s reversal of the murder conviction of Juan Rivera, who has served nearly 20 years of a life sentence for the 1992 stabbing and sexual assault of an 11-year-old babysitter, Holly Staker.
