In 2002, 20-year-old Sprint employee Anwar Shabazz was living in his mother's basement in Rogers Park. Shabazz was a DJ and hip-hop obsessive who also spent much of his time throwing parties and selling mix tapes. He decided to rent a storefront in Rogers Park.
