Much of the opposition to the FDA's proposed over-the-counter sale of Plan B came from fear that it would encourage teenagers to have sex and endanger the health of adolescent girls. But one of the grounds for opposition is that it's the moral equivalent of abortion. In this view, it prevents pregnancy by preventing a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus.
