 When Steve Fuller replaced the injured Jim McMahon as the Bears' starting quarterback before the 11th game of the 1984 season, coach Mike Ditka called Fuller into his office to discuss the changing realities of the job, much the way Lovie Smith summoned Caleb Hanie.
