Summer over, but festivals live on

Just when you thought festival season was over and it was safe to go back into a street or park without being jostled by beer-cup lofting revelers — this weekend offers two festival events with plenty of great local music and, mercifully, no waiting for portable toilets in the summer heat this time. One of them is even indoors!

Almost 20 years ago, Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh and Pavement made great, shambling, rock songs in a deliberately sloppy-sounding style their fans would come to call "lo-fi."
